About Our Weddings

It’s the reason you are here, the moment you will remember forever!

We have The Ballroom, a perfectly private and beautiful space for your ceremony. Dressed in vintage Victorian era decoration, its light filled, with crystal chandeliers and gleaming gold leaf in the hand-painted ceiling – the room radiates warmth and joy (and in the comfort of air-conditioning). Feel the true sense of occasion for this most intimate part of the day, it is completely ready with red carpet, signing table and seating for up to 100 people or space for up to 150 people standing.

We also offer ceremony options in our other spaces for a more informal feel. We just love the garden setting of The Conservatory for an outdoorsy feel but inside, ideal for any time of the year.  The Conservatory is only available if you have booked it for your reception.

We are lucky to have the Adelaide Botanic Gardens as a neighbour across the road (within 50 meters) with numerous beautiful sites for garden ceremonies, and there also many churches close by.

The best parties are with the best people

Now you’re officially married…it’s time to celebrate! Family & friends gather, champagne corks pop and the romance begins. For your chosen room, friendly staff offer delectable canapés under the towering Jacaranda tree or along the grand front veranda. Their attentive and discreet service will then take care of everything, ushering guests, pouring drinks and taking menu orders at the table. From the time you are announced as husband and wife, to the wedding speeches & toasts, and first dance, you’ll feel completely at home knowing you have the freedom and confidence to relax and soak in the happiness with family and friends at your Ayers House reception.

 

This is YOUR day!

You choose how you want to spend your wedding, a relaxed dinner with family and friends may be your ideal or time-honoured traditions may be your match, or more of a mingling cocktail affair, it’s your choice…it’s your day. During the planning process we work with you creating your vision, and then, on the day, you leave it up to us knowing it will all run smoothly while you are celebrating!

We know it’s all about the style, the personal touches, and the little details. At Ayers House we bring to life your wedding just as you imagine it.

 

Coordinating Your Day:

Along with your suppliers, we are there on the day preparing your room exactly how you plan, arranging your place cards, laying out the gift table, positioning your cake for the perfect photo opportunities… it is all part of what we do… so everything is where it should be.

 

Styling Suggestions:

You will have your own ideas, and we can’t wait to help them come to life… if you are not sure where to start or in love with lots of looks we are on hand for styling advice, taking time to understand what you want and how much help you need. We also have a list of fabulous people in Adelaide who care as much about your wedding day as we do.

Food:

Our aim is to make the culinary experience incredible, we are known for our food. We have a highly talented and dedicated in-house team who are passionate about making scrumptious food, working with local suppliers to source the best South Australian produce. We take pride in ensuring everyone has the best food experience, catering for all dietary needs, small children and we give you the flexibility you need to create your perfect menu.

 

Beverage:

We have a well-stocked cellar, filled with carefully chosen wines from South Australia’s best wineries. Our bars are also open for guests to purchase other drinks outside of the package selections or you may want to arrange something special for them.

 

Service:

It’s being taken care of that counts and we believe a big part of that is friendly staff and expert room managers to ensure everything flows smoothly and your day runs as planned. For seated receptions we do not serve alternately, but rather our experienced service team take individual orders…so guests choose what they want. For cocktail receptions we understand it’s so important there is plenty of food and choice, and that’s what we give you.

Our Rooms

The Conservatory

The Conservatory is strikingly impressive and utterly private with its own entrance and bar overlooking the dance floor. Rustic blue stone walls and giant sandstone columns set the backdrop to the Victorian styled glass house extension into the rose gardens. By day natural light streams in, hanging & potted plants bring the garden feel inside & at night the glass ceiling sparkles with fairy lights.

The Ballroom

The Ballroom is an Adelaide treasure, glorious in complete Victorian era elegance with its high and exquisitely hand painted ceiling – this room was built for parties! Including two crystal chandeliers, polished wooden floors and impressive bay window, this room has private access to the front veranda; your guests will truly feel like they are dining in a grand stately home!

Henry's
Table

Henry’s Table feels splendidly plush and welcoming. Henry’s features modern vintage elegance in soft colours, gilded details and a period double fireplace all add to the intimate feel and opulence of this room. It features the stunning reception area including Henry’s Bar, along with the private Banksia Room and bridal retreat in the Drawing Room, Henry’s at Ayers House has your event covered.

The
Library

The library is a character filled dining room, featuring an impressive bookcase, Victorian period marble fireplace and antique display cabinet. Everyone will love swapping stories around the long dining table.
